Match Review: Manchester United 2-0 Everton

United dominated Everton throughout the ninety minutes and deservedly took all three points which saw them strengthen their position within the top four.

Harry Maguire came back into the side as he made only his sixth start in the Premier League this season.

United started the game well with constant early pressure as the home side were on the front foot throughout.

Antony had a fine effort strike the post from a half volley on the edge of the box but Wan-Bissaka couldn't tap the ball into an open goal from just six yards out.

Wan-Bissaka can't find the next from just a few yards out.

Rashford celebrated his 350th-appearance for United today but will question how he didn't add a goal to that achievement in the first half as United continued to dominate proceedings and supplying Rashford with multiple chances.

Bruno Fernandes hit a trademark inch-perfect ball over the top for Antony to latch on to but the Brazilian couldn't bend the ball around Pickford to put United ahead. Moments later an almost carbon copy play played out, this time David De Gea set Antony through over Evertons extrodinaryily high defensive line but this time Ben Godfrey got back just in time to block Antony's chance.

United constantly was finding joy down the inside channel of the left of Everton's defence. Eventually it was here United found the breakthrough they had deserved as Sancho slipped Scott McTominay through and it was the Scotsman who smashed United in front.

If United were more clinical it could've been three or four nil to the home side. A very dominant first half of football for United & if England's number one, Jordan Pickford, wasn't in goal then it really could've been embarrassing at the break. The scoreline really had flattered Everton.

McTominay celebrates scoring United's opener.

Dyche acknowledged he had to make changes at left back and replaced Godfrey with Mykolenko as the Englishman was having a torrid time against the Brazilian throughout the first half.

Former United academy product, James Garner, made an appearance in the second half; coming on to applause from both sets of supporters.

However it was a United substitute that made the difference in the second half as Anthony Martial got United's second. A mistake from Everton skipper, Seamus Coleman, which saw Rashford through to square it and allow Martial to slip it comfortably past Pickford.

Martial scores as United win 2-0.

On a day of many positives, none were more important than the return of Danish maestro, Christian Eriksen, as he made his first appearance since the 28th of January.

However a huge issue saw Rashford signal to the bench with only ten minutes remaining of the fixture with what looked like a pulled groin. With Sevilla to play on Thursday, United will be hoping it isn't a serious issue but signs did not look good for the forward who has been on scintillating form.

Rashford has played 47 out of a possible 49 for United & with three games in six days it unsurprising he's collected an injury. Worrying signs for United fans.
